Response from MoD to objections to de-register Warcop Common

We have received a copy of the MoD's solicitor reply to all the representations to their applciation to deregister Murton, Hilton and Warcop commons.

The letter takes some reading but the Ministry's position seems to be that the vesting deeds inevitably give rise to an entitlement to deregister the commons. We are not sure that this is the case and will be working with the Friends of the Lale District and Open Spaces Society to tease this out and consider replying. Even though the Cumbria Commons Registration Service have told us: You do not have to respond to the MoD’s reply, although, when we review all representations and the applicant’s reply to them, we may, if we think it necessary, invite further representations (regulation 27(4)).
