The topic is for this year’s conference is carbon and we will be looking at two key questions.

What do we know about moorland grasslands and their role in climate change mitigation? Dr Lisa Norton, Landscape Ecologist from the UK Center for Ecology & Hydrology, University of Lancaster will explain the value of grasslands in carbon sequestration

Followed by a Q & A session

Carbon accounting what is it? How can hill farmers measure understand and act on their greenhouse gas emissions, while improving their business resilience for the future? Becky Wilson, Technical Director, Farm Carbon Toolkit will explain how the Farm Carbon Toolkit works and what they have learnt from working with upland farmers.
