Meetings for young and new entrants to farming
The Farmer Network, in partnership with the Lake District National Park Authority and the National Trust is organising two events for those starting or developing a farming business in the Lake District.
Dates and venues
• Wednesday 2nd March at the Farmers Arms, Lowick, LA12 8DT and
• Wednesday 9th March at the Fairfield Café, Mitchells Auction at Cockermouth CA13 0QQ.
Both sessions will start at 7pm with food provided.
What’s the meeting about?
Speakers from the Farmer Network, the Lake District National Park and the National Trust will talk about the latest developments on grants and tenancy opportunities.
They also want to hear your views about what support would help you develop your business in future.
Are you ready to start or grow a farming career.
If you are ready to take on a farm tenancy or have recently taken on a tenancy. If you want to grow your business, these meetings are for you.
Kate Gascoyne of the Farmer Network said: “We urge the next generation of Lake District farmers to come along to these meetings which are aimed at restarting the discussions we had at workshops before COVID.”
